1. Classic city to Glenelg beach day

Best for: first-time visitors who want the iconic city-to-sand story in one day.

   Coffee near Rundle Mall or breakfast around Adelaide Central Market (check market trading days). Use free tram hops inside the city free zone to stitch mall, Victoria Square and North Terrace without guessing fares.

   Catch a tram signed for Moseley Square / Glenelg. Have metroCARD or a valid ticket ready for the suburban corridor between free zones. Sit on the left or right for suburb views; the reserved track is the “light rail” feel of the line.

   Alight at Moseley Square. Walk the jetty, swim if conditions allow, or simply people-watch on the square. Ice cream and casual seafood sit metres from the terminus.

Best for: visitors basing in Holdfast Bay who want a full beach day without a car.

• Glenelg Beach & foreshore — swimming, beach walks and family time immediately west of Moseley Square.
• Glenelg Jetty — the classic promenade for photos and gulf sunsets.
• Jetty Road — fashion retail, souvenirs, cafés, gelato and restaurants. Peak weekend foot traffic is heavy; the tram saves a long walk from inland parking.
